Pornospøk mot Apples iPad

Apple har lenge hatt et forbud mot pornografiske applikasjoner i App Store for å holde butikken familievennlig. Steve Jobs har i en av sine mange e-poster argumentert for at Apples produkter gir deg pornofrihet. Dette har en gjeng streetart-kunstnere plukket opp og justert litt på flere av Apples mange reklamer.

Apples motstand mot pornografiske applikasjoner i App Store har ikke skapt veldig mye debatt, men Apples holdninger til pornografi ble tydeligere i en av Steve Jobs mange e-postutvekslinger.

En blogger med navn Ryan Tate hos Gawker hadde en av disse e-postutvekslingene med Jobs og i en av e-postene skrev han følgende:

If Dylan was 20 today, how would he feel about your company? Would he think the iPad had the faintest thing to do with 'revolution'? Revolutions are about freedom

Dette fikk Steve Jobs til å svare tre timer senere og fortelle Tate at Apples produkter faktisk ga deg pornofrihet.

Yep, freedom from programs that steal your private data. Freedom from programs that trash your battery. Freedom from porn. Yep, freedom. The times they are a changin' and some traditional PC folks feel like their world is slipping away. It is.

Pornospøken

Denne pornofriheten som vi har med iPad og andre iOS-produkter gikk ikke helt hjem i alle kretser og en gruppe streetart-artister som tydeligvis gjerne vil ha litt PR, skapte noen alternative iPad-annonser. Gruppen har opprettet nettsdien Freedom-from-Porn hvor de har dokumentert alle sine stunts.

I ly av mørket monterte de sine alternative iPad-annonser på Apples vanlige annonser. I pornoalternativene ser man tydelig at iPaden brukes til å surfe på porno - og her er det vel spøken praktisk sett slår litt feil. Verken Steve Jobs eller Apple har noen gang nektet noen å surfe på pornosider med sin iPad, men pornografiske applikasjoner i App Store har blitt utestengt.
