Netttjenesten Spotify har blitt særdeles populær og mange har ønsket seg tjenesten til Apples iPhone. I dag kunne Spotify glede mange med å informere om at de endelig har blitt ferdige med sin Spotify-applikasjon for iPhone og at denne er sendt inn for godkjenning hos Apple.
Nå gjenstår det bare å se om Apple godkjenner?
Spotify sitt program til iPhone vil la deg streame musikk fra Spotify sin nettjeneste, men programmet skal også fungere når du ikke har tilgang til internett. Du skal la Spotify kunne cache utvalgte spillelister slik at disse kan avspilles i "offline" modus.
Programmet er sendt inn til Apple for godkjenning og det er en viss usikkerhet i om Apple vil godkjenne programmet. Apple har ved flere anledninger tillatt flere lignende programmer som Last.fm og Pandora, men felles for alle disse er at de gjør det mulig å også kjøpe musikken i Apples egen butikk - iTunes Store. Spotify blir med sitt streamingtilbud en noe større konkurrent enn tjenestene Apple allerede har godkjent.
Det er også verdt å merke seg at programmet kun vil være tilgjengelig for Spotify-brukere som har "premium" abonnement hos Spotify.

Kan ikke skjønne at det ikke skal være mulig for selskap som spotify å forhøre seg med Apple før de utvikle app'en slik at de ikke kaster bort masse penger på å utvikle noe som ikke blir godkjent. Det virker som et veldig lite brukervennlig system....jeg ville tro spotify vet om de vil godkjenne programmet eller ikke allerede.

Hadde Spotify spurt på forhånd hadde de nok fått nei med en gang. Nå som de har gjort jobben og går offentlig ut med resultatet kommer Apple til å fremstå i et ekstremt dårlig lys (velfortjent) dersom de ikke godkjenner programmet.
