Hvor raskt er egentlig en 3G iPhone?

Alle prater om den kommende 3G iPhonen som har blitt behørlig omtalt både her på iPod1 og andre nettsteder. Med 3G skal telefonen bli gi mulighet for vesentlig raskere surfing på nettet, nedlastning av e-post og ikke minst videokonferanse. Men hvor raskt er egentlig 3G på en iPhone?

Et italiensk nettsted satte rett og slett opp en iMac til å benytte en 3G HDSPA tilkobling til Internett og delte deretter denne tilkoblingen over WiFi til iPhonen. Dette simulerer omtrentlig hvordan vi kan forventes oss at hastigheten på en 3G vil være på en iPhone, selv om det nødvendigvis vil gå litt tregere når man kobler seg opp mot 3G via WiFi.

Hastighetsforskjellen i Safari er i hvertfall relativt imponerende og det blir spennende å se de faktiske resultatene når/hvis det kommer en 3G iPhone.
