App Store når 3 milliarder nedlastinger

Apple kunne i kveld melde at over tre milliarder applikasjoner har blitt lastet ned fra deres App Store.

Tre milliarder nedlastninger på under 18 måneder er noe vi aldri har sett tidligere. Den revolusjonerende App Store tilbyr iPhone- og iPod touch-brukere en opplevelse ulik noe annet tilgjengelig for andre mobile enheter, og vi ser ingen tegn til at konkurransen tar oss igjen med det første.

Sier Steve Jobs i en pressemelding.

For bare drøye to måneder siden nådde App Store over 100 000 applikasjoner til den populære plattformen. Nå har altså Apple nådd en ny milepæl.

Ved forrige årskifte var antallet 500 millioner.
Det har altså blitt lastet ned 2,5 milliarder fra App Store i 2009, hvorav hvert fjerde har vært betalprogrammer. 625 millioner lisensprogram er laaangt flere enn Android Market (Google), Ovi Store (Nokia), Microsoft, Samsung, Sony Ericsson og Handango, som tilsammen har solgt 16 millioner mobiltelefonprogram i 2009.
Apple hadde altså over 97% av dette markedet i 2009.
