Alle som benytter seg av det glimrende Bysykkel-tilbudet i Oslo, vet at det også kan være vanskelig å finne en ledig plass å parkere sykkelen i sentrum eller å finne noen ledige sykler i det hele tatt.
Med gårsdagens lansering av iPhone OS 3.0 har det også blitt lansert en glimrende applikasjon som viser deg hvor du kan hente eller parkere din bysykkel!
Programmet er utviklet nettselskapet Tarantell og er tilgjengelig i App Store til NOK 6,-. Applikasjonen er iPhone OS 3.0-spesfikk og er optimalisert for å laste inn real-time data og triangulere GPS-posisjon ekstremt raskt, slik at man fort kan finne ut av hvor det er ledige sykler og låser til syklene.
Applikasjonen fungerer kun på iPhone eller iPod touch med iPhone OS 3.0 da den benytter seg av den nye Google Maps-funksjonaliteten som lar utviklere inkludere kartdata rett i applikasjonen.
Applikasjonen kan være svært nyttig for bysykkel-brukere som nå kan starte å planlegge reiseruten sin mens de er ute og går istedet for å sjekke status hjemmefra eller på kontoret. Bysykkelstativene i Oslo er svært populære og sykler kommer og går konstant.

Prøvde det nettopp: Fungerer veldig bra! Utrolig kjapp og ufattelig nyttig! Dette er programmet jeg har ventet på i over et år. Savner dog norsk språk, men det kommer muligens i neste versjon i følge bysykkelapp på twitter.

Nå merker jeg at også vi nordmenn kan dra nytte av iPhonen også, ikke bare amerikanere med sine flotte apps. Vil se flere av denne type applikasjoner fremover, gjerne for bestilling av togbillett, kinobilletter og annet stæsj som forenkler hverdagen.
Gleder meg til en 3GS er i boks, så jeg får testet ut BySykkel, er ikke optimalt å knote på en 1.gen.

Utrolig nyttig hvis du er bysykkelentusiast! Finnes ikke noe mer irriterende å komme til et tomt/fullt stativ når du har dårlig tid...

@mort: Trondheim og Drammen har også bysykler men dessverre er ikke disse på nett. Hadde det fortsatt vært nyttig å se hvor stativene er, selv om man ikke får vite hvor mange sykler/låser er tilgengelig?
